President Trump Stares at Eclipse Without Glasses, Aide Yells 'Don't Look!'

Donald Trump looked directly at the eclipse, and the internet erupted with memes.

President Trump looked directly at the eclipse, without any eye protection, upon his return to the White House and the internet went crazy with memes parodying his actions.

For weeks, health experts and even NASA have warned that looking straight into the rare celestial event can cause serious eye damage.

As Trump, his wife Melania and son Barron stood before a crowd and gazed skyward, an aide could be heard yelling, "Don't look!" as the president glanced up without protective glasses and pointed at the sun.

Trump headed back to Washington after a tumultuous 17-day working vacation, tweeting that he had been watching “some of the worst and most dishonest fake news reporting I have ever seen!"

Thank you, the very dishonest Fake News Media is out of control! https://t.co/8J7y900VGK

As the first family returned to Washington, Melania donned a sleeveless white and yellow dress from Delpozo. It retails for $2,300, but is already sold out online.

Barron looked sharp in a $25 J. Crew T-shirt that read: "On Your Mark Tiger Shark,” which also became an instant online sellout.

First daughter Ivanka Trump, wearing a white summer dress, accompanied the president with her kids.

The arrival of the Trumps comes on the heels of the first family's intention not to attend December’s annual Kennedy Center Honors.

Following Trump's remarks in the wake of the violence in Charlottesville earlier this month, some of the 2017 honorees, including Lionel Richie, Normal Lear and Carmen de Lavallade, have said they would boycott the prestigious event.

Trump and his wife announced Monday that they have opted not to attend.

“The president and first lady have decided not to participate in this year’s activities to allow the honorees to celebrate without any political distraction,” the White House statement said. “First lady Melania Trump, along with her husband President Donald J. Trump, extend their sincerest congratulations and well wishes to all of this year’s award recipients for their many accomplishments.”
