Koala Finds Perch on Top of an Oil Rig After Being Chased Off the Road
The same koala has reportedly needed rescuing before.
How did this curious koala end up at the top of an oil drilling rig?
A rescue team found the poor marsupial stuck atop the heavy equipment at an Australian construction site late Monday night, and it refused to come down on its own.
Witnesses speculated the koala climbed to the top of the oil rig to avoid being hit by a car and had been chased off a busy road.
Firefighters and animal rescue officials worked until early Tuesday morning to bring the animal back to safety, APTN reported.
The same koala has reportedly been rescued before, but the animal is now making a new home at a local enclosure.
