Dr. Phil Weighs In On Honey Boo Boo and More

Dr. Phil spoke to INSIDE EDITION about the forthcoming new season of his hit talk show and discussed the presidential race.
Dr. Phil's take on kiddie pageants is very straight forward, saying, “Frankly, they creep me out.”
He spoke to INSIDE EDITION about the stories making headlines around the country, from politics to kiddie pageants like the kind featured on the new hit show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.
"Why do they dress these little girls like they are 25-years-old with the fake tans, wigs, and fake teeth and all. In many of these shows it's the mom living vicariously through their children,” he said.
Dr. Phil is promoting the 11th season of his No. 1-rated talk show. One of his first guests of the new season is former actor, Robert Blake, who was tried and acquitted in the 2001 murder of his wife, Bonnie.
Dr. Phil asked Blake on his show, “Did you kill your wife?”
Blake responded and said, “That is a crazy question.”
“Did you shoot her in the head?” asked Dr. Phil.
Blake asked, “Why would you ask such a question?”
“It's a reasonable question,” responded Phil.
INSIDE EDITION’s Paul Boyd asked, “Is he mentally stable?”
“You could call him psychotic. You can call him mentally ill. People can debate that after they see the interview, but he is totally present. 79 years old, sharp as a tack,” said Dr. Phil.
INSIDE EDITION wanted to get Dr. Phil's opinion on the political conventions, and that much-talked-about Clint Eastwood appearance with the empty chair.
Dr. Phil said, “We are living in an internet world and if you can create buzz on the internet, and if you can create buzz on the internet so that your presentation lives beyond the window where you made it, then you have hit a home run.”
Boyd asked, “In 2008 the ‘Queen of Daytime,’ Oprah endorsed President Obama. As the ‘King of Daytime,’ have you been contacted about endorsing President Obama or Governor Romney?”
“I don't think I am qualified to influence people on who they should vote for. I will tell you I am not sure I see much of a difference on either side of the aisle,” said Dr. Phil.
The new season of Dr. Phil kicks off Monday, September 10th.
