A former contestant on America's Next Top Model has suffered a horrific fate. She was slain in what police say was a drug-related triple murder.
Mirjana Puhar was just 19 years old.
The five-foot-nine bundle of energy from Charlotte, North Carolina, appeared on the show last season. Her family came to the U.S. as war refugees from Serbia with just $50 in their pocket.
She appeared on the show with Chantelle Brown-Young who got a lot of attention due to her Vitiligo skin condition.
She lasted until episode ten before she was eliminated from the show.
Mirjana was found dead at an apartment in Charlotte. Her boyfriend and another young man were also killed.
In a statement, America's Next Top Model's Tyra Banks said, "Mirjana was a vivacious and promising young woman. Our hearts and prayers go out to her loved ones."
Nineteen-year-old Emmanuel Rangel has been charged with the murders.
A heartbreaking fate for this model with so much promise.
