Why is Burt Reynolds Crying?
Actor breaks down in tears remembering famous friend.
A frail-looking Burt Reynolds broke down talking about his good friend, the late Star Trek legend Leonard Nimoy.
He said, "I just wanted to say something. I talked to Leonard Nimoy the night before he passed away, two hours on the phone talking about everything. He was a wonderful, wonderful man and I loved him very much."
Reynolds was being honored at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, and, at the end off-the-cuff remarks he said, "I loved him very much. We are going to miss him. A hell-of-a-lot more than the other guy."
Was that a swipe at Nimoy's co-star, William Shatner, who came under a lot of criticism for missing the funeral two weeks ago? Shatner was attending a charity event and said he couldn't get back in time.
Reynolds is now 79 years old. In his hey day he was Hollywood's No. 1 leading man. Now, he walks with a cane and needed assistance at the event.
