A wild police chase led to a suspect pinning himself to a building — with the car he’d been driving.
Happy Valley, Oregon, police say that Isaiah John Gellaty broke his leg as a result.
It happened on Nov. 19., when police received a call about a man trying to break in to cars around 11 p.m.
Authorities spotted Gellaty lying down in the vehicle’s front seat. When they turned on their flashlight, he suddenly got up, put the car in gear and took off.
He led them on a short chase before other responding officers put down spike strips, flattening the tires. Police say he started to lose control of the car and pulled into a nearby business center.
This didn’t stop Gellaty from still trying to escape.
With the car still rolling, cops say he hopped out of the vehicle and started running beside it. He tried to cut in front of it and run off. Instead, the car pinned him against a building.
Gellaty was taken to a local hospital. Once he is released, Gellaty will face a number of charges, including reckless driving and theft.
