Bear Cubs Scare Resort Workers as They Peek Out of Large Dumpster
Employees of the Minnesota resort said the dumpster had been locked to keep bears out.
Just in time for Halloween, two bear cubs peeking out of a large dumpster gave Minnesota resort workers quite a fright.
Employees at the Cascade Rental Vacation resort in Lutsen said they were throwing out the trash Wednesday morning when they encountered the cubs.
“I just went to the dumpster and both bars were on it and when I opened it, the bear was sitting in the dumpster!!" the woman who first saw the bears texted the maintenance team, according to the Duluth News Tribune. "I wonder how that is even possible with it being barred shut?!? I ran off with my trash, but didn’t put the bars back on or look to see if the bear jumped out."
After a team tried coaxing the cubs out by banging on the dumpster, the cubs eventually scrambled out and joined their mother, who had been keeping a careful eye on her babies from nearby, according to APTN.
