Behind-the-Scenes Footage Shows Bewilderment Surrounding Kanye West's Bizarre 'SNL' Rant

People were just shocked and didn't know what to say," Brett Sanders said of the rapper's tirade.

President Trump is slamming the season premiere of “Saturday Night Live," but had only praise for musical guest and friend, Kanye West.

"Like many, I don't watch Saturday Night Live (even though I past hosted it) - no longer funny, no talent or charm," Trump tweeted. "It is just a political ad for the Dems.

He then added that “Word is that Kanye West, who put on a MAGA hat after the show (despite being told “no”), was great. He’s leading the charge!”

After the show signed off the air early Sunday morning, Kanye West ranted on stage to those in a pledge of loyalty to Trump, a tirade that left the audience bewildered.

One video from the "SNL" green room showed shocked guests, it was recorded by creative director Brett Sanders, who had been invited backstage.

“When I saw people were awestruck, that is an understatement,” he told Inside Edition. "People were just shocked and didn't know what to say."

Among the topics addressed by West was racism.

"It’s so many times that I talk to a white person about this, and they say, 'How could you support Trump? He's racist.' Well if I was concerned about racism, I would have moved out of America a long time ago," West said.

"We don't just make our decisions off of racism," he added. "Imma break it down to you right now — if someone inspires me and I connect with them, I don't have to believe in all they policies."

Kanye delivered the diatribe wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, which he also donned during one of his songs on the show.

"They bullied me backstage. They said, 'don't go out there with that hat on.' They bullied me backstage. They bullied me!” he said.

West had the cap on during a flight back to Los Angeles and responded to the backlash.

The pro-Trump speech took the audience and cast members by surprise. Comedian Chris Rock was in the audience recording it. He can be heard snickering and whispering, "Oh my God."
