The boy's parents had no idea that he called in an emergency while fearing Christmas would be stolen.
Police in Mississippi have arrested "The Grinch" after a 5-year-old boy heard he was going to steal Christmas and called 911 to report the plot.
On Monday, a Grinch was busted after TyLon Pittman called 911 and said: “I just want to tell you something. Watch for that little Grinch. Because the Grinch is gonna steal Christmas, OK?”
As the boy was on the phone, his mother, TeResa, heard what was happening and apologized to the 911 dispatcher.
Nonetheless, the Byram Police Department showed up at Pittman’s door for the young boy's help in finding the Grinch.
TyLon, who wants to be a cop when he grows up, was able to help the officers find the "suspect," who officers took into custody.
The Grinch, who was dressed in his Santa Claus outfit, was taken downtown and locked up.
Byram Police Chief Luke Thompson presented TyLon with a Grinch doll to remember the occasion. He then told the boy that when he is 21, to return to the police station and fill out a job application.
