It’s kind of like Groundhog Day, but with Christmas.
It’s kind of like Groundhog Day, but with Christmas.
Heather Shayne has collected more than 1,200 trinkets and trees dedicated to the holiday, including lights, reindeer and Santas, according to SWNS.
A room in Shayne’s St. Louis, Missouri, home is packed from wall to wall with Christmas decorations that stay up all year round.
Shayne spends her weekends scouring flea markets and online auctions to find her loot.
And the hobby doesn’t come cheap — she started the collection in 2015, after a taking a trip to Pottery Barn for a set of Santa mugs.
Soon enough, she was collecting mugs from as far away as Japan. Many of them are antiques, dating back to the 1950s and '60s.
Since starting her collection, the sales assistant has spent $10,000. But for Shayne, the end result is priceless.
“I sometimes go there when I am feeling down. It is a place of peace and happiness,” Shayne told SWNS.
