Dentist Offers to Fix Woman's Teeth for Free After She Was Injured by Ex-Boyfriend
Kyleigha Scott is overjoyed by her new smile after she couldn't afford to fix her broken tooth.
A Texas woman is overjoyed by what she sees in the mirror after a kindhearted dentist offered to fix her smile that was lost at the hands of a violent ex-boyfriend.
For four years, Kyleigha Scott, a single mom from East Texas, was too embarrassed to smile because one of her front teeth was broken.
“I actually trained my lip to go over my broken tooth for when I talked,” she told Inside Edition.
She had visited Dr. Kenny Wilstead to treat a painful molar and he couldn’t help but notice the broken tooth.
“Obviously she was hiding a big problem,” he said.
She says that she was once head-butted by an ex-boyfriend in an act of domestic violence. She never had it fixed before because she couldn't afford it.
Touched by her story, Dr. Wilstead offered to repair the tooth at no charge.
Later, she was able to see a beaming smile for the first time in four years.
“It's a beautiful thing,” she said as tears streamed down her face. “It just is absolutely amazing.”
