Donnie Wahlberg Leaves $1,000 Tip on Waffle House Bill: 'I Almost Had a Heart Attack'
The actor and New Kids on the Block member stopped to eat at the Indiana restaurant when he made a waitress' day.
An Indiana Waffle House waitress has gotten one heck of a tip from New Kids on the Block member and Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg.
"I almost had a heart attack," Kassandra Rhea told InsideEdition.com Wednesday. "It was extremely unexpected. I am extremely grateful. I was not expecting that much on a $48 check."
The tip was a whopping $1,000. The brother of Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg wrote: "Here's a thousand dollars. Split it between you, your other server and your cook," Rhea recollected.
"They were pretty excited," she said.
Wahlberg was in Indianapolis for the Boston Celtics basketball game against the Pacers. Afterwards, he stopped in for a bite with his son.
Rhea said she didn't recognize the actor, who also appeared in the HBO series Band of Brothers, until other patrons told her.
"I knew he looked familiar, but I didn't quite pinpoint who he was," she said. "It was a pretty cool experience. He is super, super sweet. It was pretty awesome."
