Drone Footage Captures Harrowing Moment Surfer Shared the Beach With a Shark
The surfer turned his board and headed to shore when he heard the alert.
This Australian surfer clearly didn’t intend to swim with the sharks.
Drone footage caught a surfer turn his board and make for the shore as a shadow of a shark lurked near him under the surface at Werri Beach in New South Wales.
The shark appeared to either be a bronze whaler or a young great white shark, according to the drone operator, who works with a volunteer search and rescue service.
They also estimated the shark to be about 9 1/2 to 13 feet long.
When the drone operator noticed the shark, an alert message warned swimmers to get out of the water, leading the surfer to turn around and head for land.
