Oscar®-winning actress Kate Winslet has split up with her husband, Oscar®-winning director Sam Mendes. The couple has been married for almost seven years. INSIDE EDITION has the latest.
34-year-old actress Kate Winslet and her husband director Sam Mendes called it quits "earlier this year," said a statement released by their lawyers. The split is described as "mutual" and "entirely amicable." It went on to say, "Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children."
Both are Oscar® winners. Winslet won Best Actress in 2009 for The Reader and Mendes was named Best Director for American Beauty in 2000.
The couple has been married since 2003 and they have a 6-year-old son. Winslet has a daughter from a previous marriage.
