Hairstyles Become Hot Topics for Gabby Douglas and Miley Cyrus

Hairstyles seems to be the hot topic this week as Gabby Douglas sees a top celebrity hair stylist and Miley Cyrus' new 'do' has everyone talking. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.

Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas is getting a new look. Celebrity hair stylist Ted Gibson, who regularly styles Angelina Jolie and Anne Hathaway, is her new hairdresser.

Douglas was rudely targeted during the Olympics for her gelled-back ponytail. Some Twitter users complained her hair looked "unkept" during the competition.

Now Douglas' team has brought in Gibson, hoping to freshen up her look as she takes the mantle of America's newest sweetheart.

Gibson told The Daily Beast, "It's tricky because Gabby is 16 and I don't want to do anything to make her look 25 years old. I hope we can create something that's easy and looks great no matter what she's doing or where she is."

Gabby isn't the only celebrity making headlines over hair styles. Miley Cyrus shocked fans earlier this week when she debuted a short new hair do. Reaction to Cyrus' edgy cut has been overwhelmingly negative. But she's also finding supporters.

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres had some fun tweeting a photo of herself trying out "The Miley."

DeGeneres tweeted: "I love mileycyrus' new haircut so much that I copied it."

And Miley Cyrus just tweeted that her fiancé, Hunger Games co-star Liam Hemsworth "loves" her new look, tweeting: " :) he likes seeing my eyes more."

Model Diana Wright loved Cyrus' short locks so much she went to Manhattan's Robert Stuart Salon to get the look.

"I've never had short hair, so this is a drastic change," said Wright.

To get "The Miley" Diana's long hair was swept into a pony tail, and 12 inches are chopped off. Then a shampoo and the real cutting begins.

Using Miley Cyrus' Twitter photos as a guide, stylist Anna Petrovska cut large chunks off the back and sides of Petrovska's head. To get a super close cut, the back of her hair is buzzed with clippers.

"I'm feeling like…a little bit like a rock star," said Wright.

Copper highlights are also added, then blown dried and shaped and styled to perfection.

"I've still got to get used to it, but I like it," exclaimed Wright.

Now, she has a cute pixie cut, just like the Miley Cyrus.
