Oprah Reacts to Kitty Kelley's Biography

Oprah Winfrey speaks out about the man claiming to be her real father and Kitty Kelley's biography about her. INSIDE EDITION has the details.

Oprah Winfrey jokes about the man who's claiming to be her biological father.

At the Matrix Awards, Winfrey said, "All of my new daddies that are now showing up. New daddies who are saying, 'Hello daughter, call me, I need a new roof!' "

But she wasn't smiling when she was asked whether she would undergo DNA testing to clear up the controversy.

"I will not be taking a paternity test, ever!" a stern-looking Oprah told a reporter.

The man claiming to be Oprah's dad is named Norh Robinson. He's a navy World War II veteran who is now 84 and lives in a V.A. hospital. He's from Kosciusko, Mississippi, where Oprah was born, and he says that he dated Oprah's mom, Vernita Lee.

Oprah was in New York to attend the Matrix Awards, where her best friend Gayle King was honored. When Oprah took the podium, first she lashed out at the tell-all biography about her life by Kitty Kelley.

"Last week was a rough week for Gayle when a so-called biography came out," said Winfrey.

On her Sirius XM satellite radio show, Gayle King spoke about calling Oprah after Ronbinson came forward to clain paternity, saying, "And there's something in the paper about some guy who says he's your dad. Have you ever heard of this guy? And she goes, 'No, I've never heard of him. I have no idea who that is.' "

Gayle says Oprah is keeping her cool about the controversy.

"Oprah really is so non-plussed about the book. She's like, 'Ok, whateva,' is really her attitude about the book. She's like, you know, 'Listen Gayle, I'm just not giving this any energy.' "
