It's the kind of superstar-making role that every young actor dreams of, but Charlie Hunnam is said to have gotten "cold feet" about starring in Fifty Shades of Grey.
Julie Chen on The Talk said, "The movie is losing its leading man."
The Sons of Anarchy actor was set to play Christian Grey alongside Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson’s daughter, Dakota Johnson, in the movie based on the best-selling book.
People.com said in a headline, "Charlie Hunnam Pulls Out of Fifty Shades of Grey, Studio to Recast Role."
Mike Fleeman of People magazine told INSIDE EDITION, "Charlie does not want to become the next Robert Pattinson. He doesn't want to be followed by paparazzi, he doesn't want to be remembered for one role. He doesn't want his life to be devoured by this project and he got a taste of that after the casting. He wants to be a serious actor and he is afraid that this role will swallow up his career."
The author of Fifty Shades, E.L. James, tweeted, “I wish Charlie all the best. X”
