Stephen Colbert Under Fire

An tweet that some found offensive and was sent from The Colbert Report show's Twitter account has landed host Stephen Colbert in hot water. INSIDE EDITION explains.

Stephen Colbert is under fire again.

A routine started a firestorm of controversy which was made worse when a tweet was sent out by his Comedy Central show, The Colbert Report.

He said on the show, "I am willing to show the Asian community I care by introducing the Ching-Chong Ding-Dong Foundation for Sensitivity to Orientals or Whatever."

The line from the show ended up in a tweet which said: "I am willing to show #Asian community I care by introducing the Ching-Chong Ding-Dong Foundation for Sensitivity to Orientals or Whatever."

The tweet offended many Asian-Americans and led to calls for Colbert’s show to be taken off the air.  The hashtag #CancelColbert began trending on Twitter.

Colbert personally went on Twitter to inform his fans that he did not, in fact, send out that insensitive tweet: "For the record @ColbertReport is not controlled by Stephen Colbert or his show. He is @StephenAtHome Sorry for the confusion."

Fox News said, "It will blow over."
