Renee Zellweger is responding to the shocked reaction over her new face, saying she’s glad people think she looks different. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.

An almost unrecognizable Renee Zellweger is firing back in the wake of stunned reactions worldwide.

Whoopie Golberg of The View said, "People are losing their minds about Renee Zellweger."

Hoda Kotb of the Today Show said, “I did look at her picture and it took a double-take to figure out who it was.”

The 45-year-old Zellweger told People.com, "I'm glad folks think I look different. I'm living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I'm thrilled that perhaps it shows."

But, she dodged the big question of whether or not she's had plastic surgery.

"Perhaps I look different. Who doesn't as they get older?" she went on to say.

Zellweger's appearance on the red carpet in Los Angeles, California, continues to trigger a tidal wave of commentary.

More than 300,000 INSIDE EDITION viewers checked out the story on our Facebook page in just a few hours.

Wanda said, "OMG, no way that is her."

And Janey wrote, "So very sad she did this."

But Suzette said, "I still luv ya, Renee."

Rosie O'Donnell made her point known on The View, “If somebody, who is a public figure, drastically changes their appearance so that they are unrecognizable, are we as a society supposed to pretend we don't see it?”

Experts INSIDE EDITION spoke to said Zellweger's had her eyelids lifted. Others feel she had too much skin removed, and mourn the loss of her trademark squinty eyes, part of her charm in her early movies.

Now, we have the new Renee Zellweger, like it or not.
