Estranged Husband of Missing Mom Says He Misses His Children

Fotis Dulos' children are being looked after by his estranged wife's mother as cops continue to probe her mysterious disappearance.

Fotis Dulos, the estranged husband of missing Connecticut mom Jennifer Dulos, is speaking out for the first time since his wife vanished, making a heartfelt plea that he hopes his children hear.

"I just want to tell my children that they are constantly on my mind and that I love them and I miss them very much," Fotis, 51, told reporters.

The couple's five children are being looked after by Jennifer's mother as cops continue to probe her mysterious disappearance. Jennifer, 50, was last seen on May 24 while dropping her kids off at school. She was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Suburban, which was later found parked in New Canaan.

Jennifer and her husband were in the midst of a bitter divorce and custody battle at the time she went missing.

On the day his wife disappeared, authorities said Fotis drove for 4 miles along a street in Hartford, disposing of garbage bags, some of which contained items soaked in his wife's blood. Video showed he was accompanied by a woman who appears to be 44-year-old Michelle Troconis, Dulos' girlfriend.

Fotis has pleaded not guilty to charges of tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution, and insists he had nothing to do with his wife's disappearance.

His lawyer, Norm Pattis, has claimed that Jennifer may have staged a "Gone Girl"-type disappearance. "We are actively contemplating a revenge suicide hypothesis as an explanation for her disappearance," he said Wednesday.

In the best-selling novel and 2014 movie, a wife fakes her own disappearance and frames her husband as a murderer. But Jennifer's family called the "Gone Girl" account a "classic act of desperation to slander the victim."

Jennifer’s mother, Gloria Farber, is taking care of the five children and said earlier this month that they miss their mom.

“Jennifer’s children are living in limbo – missing her embrace, her lilting laugh, her bedtime backrubs,” she said. “More than anything in the world, they long to know where there mother is.”

Troconis, who faces the same charges Fotis does, has also pleaded not guilty.
