Gloria Allred Speaks About Client Who Says He Found R. Kelly Sex Tape in Old Box

The high-profile lawyer told Inside Edition that her client's timing of finding the alleged recording is just a coincidence.

After a Pennsylvania man claimed that he found an R. Kelly sex tape in a box of old junk, lawyer Gloria Allred is speaking out about her client.

Gary Dennis made the stunning claim in a bombshell press conference with Allred Sunday. He said he found the tape in a box of old VHS recordings.

Allred spoke to Inside Edition Monday. She's taking heat for going public with the alleged long-lost recording.

Allred told Inside Edition Dennis "does not know" how exactly he got the tape.

"He has tried to remember. He doesn’t know, in the past he has had friends who know he loves sports, sometimes they would give him sports tapes that they had," Allred said.

Many have criticized Dennis for saying he just now found the tape in the wake of all of the latest Kelly uproar, but Allred defended him, telling Inside Edition that his timing of finding the recording is just a coincidence.

Kelly's attorney, Steve Greenberg, responded to the alleged new tape, saying in a statement, “The doubt here is self-evident, with reporting that the man on the tape kinda, sorta looks like R. Kelly. That doesn't make it him. ... It is irresponsible to continue to take the speculation of every Tom, Dick and Harry, and report it as if it is fact."

Kelly had turned himself in on sexual abuse charges but was released on bail. He pleaded not guilty, has denied any wrongdoing and has denied he ever had sex with an underage girl.
