Judge Recognizes Another Defendant in Her Courtroom, This Time From Cruise Vacation

Miami Judge Mindy Glazer, who recognized a former classmate in her courtroom earlier this month, has now recognized a defendant from a recent vacation.

For the second time in a month, Miami Judge Mindy Glazer recognized someone who came before her in court.

Judge Glazer and the defendant, Alon Glenn, took the same Caribbean cruise - an eight-day vacation aboard the Carnival Cruiseship Breeze out of Miami.

Glenn appeared before the judge in an extradition hearing on fraud charges. Apparently, the fact that they were on the same cruise ship helped her determine he did not pose a flight risk.

She said: “He could have fled in St. Maarten, St. Kitts, Puerto Rico, but he came back.”

Earlier this month, Judge Glazer came face-to-face with a former middle school classmate.

She asked 49-year-old Arthur Booth during his bail hearing on burglary charges: “Did you go to Nautilus for middle school?”

“Oh, my goodness!” said the suspect, recognizing her.

“I'm sorry to see you there. I always wondered what happened to you, sir,” the judge said.

And now, it's a fellow vacationer.

Judge Glazer asked Glenn: “What were you on the Breeze?”

“Yes,” he said.

She then said: “Yeah, me too. Did you have a nice cruise?”

“Yes, ma’am,” he replied.

“I'm glad to be back to work. I had to watch four kids,” she said.

A shocked Glenn asked: “You was on the cruise this weekend that just passed?”

“Yeah,” she said.

He replied: “You didn't see me dancing? I was the one dancing.”

“You were dancing. I was sitting upstairs in the shade,” she said. “You weren't in that contest by the pool now were you? Nah, I didn't see you there.”

“Yeah, I definitely was,” he said.

It seems this judge knows everyone -- who knows who will be next?
