Dodgers' Chase Utley Under Fire for Slide That Broke Ruben Tejada's Leg

Dodgers star Chase Utley has been suspended for two games following a controversial slide on Mets' Ruben Tejada.

If Los Angeles Dodgers star Chase Utley plays tonight at Citi Field he can expect to feel the wrath of Mets fans following his controversial slide into Ruben Tejada.

The Mets star was taken off the field with a broken leg. Utley has been suspended for two games but has filed an emergency appeal.

Major League Baseball has to make a ruling before Monday night’s game in Queens, New York.

The NYPD is doing a "threat assessment" following furious online reaction aimed at the Dodgers second baseman.

Utley says he has reached out to apologize to Tejada. He also insists, according to Fox Sports: "In no way shape or form was I trying to hurt Ruben. I slid in hard like I have for 12 years. I feel terrible about the outcome."

If MLB does not suspend "the rat" Utley for remainder of series, Monday's game with Mets will be ugly. Benches will clear, payback coming.

Anybody think @Dodgers won't play Utley @CitiField because they're afraid of payback? And WHY didn' the @Mets protest? @MLB screwed NYC.
