The former NBA star's college basketball coach Jim Harrick told USA Today he had been in touch with Odom's estranged wife Khloe Kardashian.
While in the hospital, Khloe "reached down and said ‘you know I love you’ and he kind of nodded," Harrick said. He added that Khloe had texted him with the information, which he called "a little hope."
A source told CNN he said "hi" to Khloe.

It comes three days after the 35-year-old was found unconscious after a reported drug overdose during a three-day binge at a Nevada brothel.
After he was rushed to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Khloe, her mom Kris and her sisters flew to his bedside.
Speaking to INSIDE EDITION, the madam at the brothel said that Odom was despondent about the break-up of his marriage to Khloe.

"He talked about the vindictiveness," T.J. Moore said. "He was worried about his kids being hurt in the divorce but it wasn’t so much the words as the pain I could see in his face about it."
