Hillary Clinton appeared before a House Committee about the 2012 Benghazi attacks.
Hillary Clinton faced off against the House Select Committee investigating the Benghazi attack on Capitol Hill on Thursday morning, fielding questions about the 2012 attack that saw four Americans killed.

The U.S. ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, Information Officer Sean Smith and two CIA operatives, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, were killed in the attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound.
Clinton said in her opening remarks: "I'm here to honor the service of those four men, the courage of the diplomatic security agency and the CIA officers who risked their lives that night. And the work their colleagues do every single day all over the world.”
The Democratic presidental candidate is under fire from Republicans for allegedly failing to make the compound secure when she was Secretary Of State.
She told the committee: “I was the one who asked Chris to go to Libya. I was the one who stood next to the president when his [Stevens'] body was brought back. I took responsibility, and as part of that, before I left office, I launched reforms to better protect our people in the field and help reduce the chance of another tragedy happening in the future.”

The grueling questioning by Republicans on the committee could impact her presidential campaign, according to some political analysts.
