Michael Phelps became the oldest swimmer to be decorated with an Olympic medal on Tuesday when he took home his 20th and 21st gold medals in Rio, adding a new distinction to his already impressive title as the most decorated Olympian of all time.
Phelps celebrated by running to the stands to kiss his 3-month-old son, Boomer. The 31-year-old swimmer also embraced his mother, Debbie, and fiancée, Nicole Johnson.
Prior to the race, Johnson posted photos of the baby with his grandparents around Rio.
The baby already has his own Instagram page setup by his folks that show of his adventures in Rio.
Phelps experienced a hiccup before hitting the pool on Tuesday after he ripped his swim cap and needed to borrow one from a teammate.
But the setback proved to have no effect on Phelps, who claimed victory at the end of his races.
The USA men’s basketball team was standing by after the big win and was proud to pose for pictures with Phelps.
