Thief Breaks Into Kids' Dance Clothing Store, Puts On Leotard: Cops

Security footage appears to show the thief in Missouri rob a store, leave, then return in the dance garment.

A Missouri thief is accused of breaking into a kids' dance clothing store, stealing garments, then coming back for more while wearing a leotard.

Footage taken from inside Degage Dancewear in Independence shows the suspect breaking into the business by prying open the front door.

According to Independence police, the suspect is seen on video going through the store and leaving with multiple items.

And that's where the story gets weird.

Cops say the suspect then returned to the store after while donning one of the leotards before making several more trips out of the store with more stolen goods.

The suspect is accused of stealing $3,303 worth of gloves, earrings, adult leotards, children’s leotards, adult and children’s shorts, and the cash register.

While bizarre, Officer John Syme with the Independence Police Department told InsideEdition.com that it has happened several times before.

"We’ve had three of these burglaries in our city [of dance studios] and we know of two or three more in the KC Metro area," said Syme, who did not indicate whether he believed the same suspect was behind each.
