Two hedgehogs stolen from a Michigan zoo over the weekend were returned by the mysterious thief on Monday.
Amy Laper, the owner and manager of Anderson & Girls Orchards in Stanton, said the animals, Comet and Nettle, disappeared from their area of the zoo without a trace on Sunday.
Zoo officials took to social media to find the hedgehogs, one of which has a noticeably missing eye, in hopes someone would return them.
And that’s just what happened, as a customer found the animals in one of the zoo’s bathrooms on Monday.
“They were placed in the women’s bathroom,” Laper said “Obviously the person [who stole them] felt guilty and realized that wasn’t the right thing to do.”
Laper said she has no idea who stole the animals, but they're thankful that Comet and Nettle were in good health.
