A teenager doesn't feel safe in her own home because she found herself the victim of a creep who set up a camera in her bedroom. It turns out the man who allegedly put the camera there was a neighbor and her father's best friend. INSIDE EDITION reports
It's a nightmare for any parent. A guy in a green shirt is a total creep. He actually hid a camera inside a bedroom and recorded the most intimate moments of a teenage girl.
What makes it even worse is, he's a neighbor and a trusted family friend.
Clark Reed was in tears after what happened to his daughter, Madison. His neighbor down the block, Brad McCollum, also happens to be his best friend.
An emotional Clark told INSIDE EDITION, “My job was to protect my daughter and I let him in here. I'm devastated. I’ve been asked over a dozen times, ‘Don't you want to kill him?’ No, I don't want to kill him. I just want him to suffer the consequences.”
Clark said he first became suspicious when his friend kept asking to use Madison’s bathroom whenever he visited.
Clark mentioned, “When you come up to visit a neighbor, why do you always have to go to the bathroom?”
He says he followed his friend and caught him lurking in Madison’s bedroom.
“This is where he hid it, right on the shelf at the foot of her bed,” Clark said.
On the shelf, underneath some papers is where he found the hidden camera. It was filled with naked images of Madison.
Madison says just thinking about it just makes her cringe. Even now, when she walks into her own bathroom she feels the need to check for cameras.
“Every time I go to the bathroom I’m like, ‘My God, Brad could seriously be in here right now,’” said Madison.
Prosecutors say McCollum had been recording naked images of Madison for four years. He pled guilty to burglary and invasion of privacy.
