Hurricane Michael: Jim Cantore 'Not Welcome' in Florida Community as Storm Approaches
The Weather Channel personality's presence during hurricane season is often seen as a bad omen.
Meteorologist Jim Cantore’s arrival in town usually means a major storm is approaching.
However, one Florida sheriff’s department has "barred" the Weather Channel meteorologist from their town.
In a playful jab, the Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office issued a trespassing warning on its Facebook page.
Underneath the three photos on the Facebook post, it reads: “Person Of Interest: Jim Cantore.”
“Everyone knows what's in store when Jim Cantore shows up. So we issued a little notice. Lol,” the department wrote in the post.
The poster says he’s “welcome for non-business related visits only. Winter months preferred.”
It was a lighthearted way to deal with the real threat of Hurricane Michael as it takes aim at the Florida Panhandle. It is estimated to make landfall Wednesday.
It is a running joke on The Weather Channel that Cantore's mere presence scares the living daylights out of people.
