Denmark’s Old Stock Exchange from 1600s Destroyed in Fire

One of the oldest buildings in Denmark has caught on fire. The Old Stock Exchange in the Danish capital of Copenhagen has stood since the year 1625 a short distance away from Christiansborg Palace and the Danish Parliament. Flames were seen coming through the roof around 8:30 in the morning on April 16. Reports say people could be seen rushing in and out of the building trying to save some of the priceless artwork and furniture that was held inside. There have been no reports of injuries.
