High School Student Designs 3D-Printed Prosthetic Leg for Stork in Czechia

October 17, 2021

A stork in eastern Europe finally has two legs to stand on, after getting outfitted with a robotic limb. The bird reportedly injured itself as it was first learning to fly in the Czech Republic. In stepped a group of animal rescuers, who gave the stork a new, 3D-printed prosthesis. The fancy new limb is lightweight and it can rotate. The stork is still getting used to its new leg, but its human helpers think that before long, it will be able to “fly, hunt and live a full life.”
