Otters Chill in Ice Bath to Keep from Overheating at Oregon Zoo

The summer heat can be tough, especially if you're an otter. Otters have the thickest fur of any animal, one million hairs per square inch! They're usually happier in cold water. So when temperatures at the Oregon Zoo in Portland recently hit 96 degrees, their keepers had a cool idea. They set up ice baths for the wetland mammals! The furry duo cavorted in their icy environs, and seemed right at home on the rocks.
