Solar Orbiter from NASA and the ESA Takes ‘Camp Fire’ Images of the Sun

Images sent back from the Solar Orbiter revealed so-called ‘camp fires’ on the surface of the sun. They were taken by the unmanned orbiter, nearly 50 million miles from the sun. The Solar Orbiter is a joint mission between NASA and the European Space Agency. ESA Project Scientist said, “We have never been closer to the sun with a camera and this is just the beginning of the long epic journey of Solar Orbiter.”
