The U.S. government launches 60,000 weather balloons each year. They reach a certain altitude and then burst. Jesse Geffen's company sells weather balloons to the National Weather Service. “Weather balloons are sent up from 92 different locations across the U.S. every single day," he says. Most people can not see them due to some balloons floating 120,000-feet high, which is just on the edge of space.
