Venomous Funnel-Web Spider Helps Create Its Own Anti-Venom

Meet Hercules, a supersized funnel-web spider. The average members of this species grow up to 5 centimeters. Hercules measures 7.9 cm wide. His sharp fangs are capable of piercing a human fingernail, and they emit a deadly venom. Hercules is going to participate in the Australian Reptile Park’s anti-venom program. Keepers will carefully milk his fangs to use his natural poison to create the antidote.
