Meet 'Narwhal,' the 'Coolest Puppy Ever' With a Tail on His Head
The Missouri rescue group has been buried in offers to adopt the puppy with a tail on its forehead.
An adorable puppy with two tails has become social media's newest star after a Missouri rescue group posted his sweet mug on its site.
Mac's Mission, which specializes in dogs with special needs, put up photos and videos of a sweet-faced puppy with a tiny tail growing out of his forehead. Staff named him "Narwhal the Little Magical Furry Unicorn" and declared him the "COOLEST PUPPY EVER!"
A vet examined the pup and said he was a normal dog in every way, except his extra tail. Unfortunately, the organization said, Narwhal's bonus appendage doesn't wag,
"Dr. Heuring said there is no real reason at the time for the unicorn tail to be removed (and we all wish it wagged)!!" read a Facebook post from the group.
The rescue chose the name Narwhal after a species of whale known for its unicorn-like tusk.
“The unicorn face tail does not bother Narwhal and he never slows down just like any normal puppy,” the organization posted. “He seems completely healthy other than some usual puppy worms he got meds for.”
The group was deluged by adoption offers, but Mac's Mission says the pup needs to grow a little more and needs to be observed to make sure the extra tail doesn't become a problem.
“Right now he is pretty much the most unique amazing example of what we do here and we are so thankful to have the chance to be part of his journey,” the shelter said. “Thank you everyone for helping us help them!”
