A mother and her 10-month-old child are suspected to have been killed by a bear in a remote area in Canada.

Valerie Theoret, 37, and her daughter, Adele, were found dead near a cabin where they’d been staying for three months on Einarson Lake, CNN reported.

Theoret’s husband told authorities the bear “charged” at the pair as they were out for a walk, and he shot and killed it.

The Yukon Coroner’s Service said they are investigating the suspected bear attack.

Authorities said they will release additional details soon.
