Oregon Teen Says Friend Who Pushed Her off Washington Bridge 'Doesn't Even Care'

The teenage girl pushed from a 60-foot bridge now says the friend accused of doing it has not taken responsibility for her actions.

Jordan Holgerson, 16, spoke to reporters Tuesday after a court hearing for Tay'lor Smith, who is charged with one count of reckless endangerment for an August incident in which Holgerson was shoved from an expanse over Moulton Falls, northeast of Vancouver, Washington.

"I just think she really doesn't even care," Holgerson said. 

The Oregon teen had injuries including broken ribs and collapsed lungs after she belly-flopped into the water. The fall was captured on video and a pair of hands can be clearly seen forcefully pushing Holgerson's shoulders, sending her flailing off the bridge as she shrieks. 

Smith was ordered Tuesday to stand trial in February and to have no contact with Holgerson. She declined to speak with journalists outside the courtroom. She has pleaded not guilty.

Holgerson, however, talked for a few minutes. "I just want to say I hope this is over soon," she said. "I don't think she's taking anything seriously and she's making this a difficult trial."

In a "Good Morning America" interview shortly after Holgerson's plunge into the water, Smith said she accepted responsibility for the consequences of her actions and acknowledged pushing her friend off the bridge.

"I accept the charges maturely and all I can do is hope for the best for Jordan and myself," she said.
