Pregnant Mom 'Freaked Out' When Ultrasound Showed a Skeleton in Her Belly
It was 23-year-old Jessica Woods' first ultrasound of her son.
Babies never look like themselves in their ultrasound picture, but this Oklahoma mom got a shocking surprise when the image on her first scan seemed to show a skeleton.
Jessica Woods, 23, of Guthrie, said she was kind of nervous when she was pregnant with Silas, who is now 1 1/2 years old.
“First, it was like a normal ultrasound and he looked like a normal baby,” Woods told InsideEdition.com. “He turned his head and that’s when it started looking skeletal. I was kind of freaked out.”
She was pregnant with her second baby at the time of the ultrasound but had never imagined her baby’s first picture would look like this.
“I had never had any weird, scary ultrasounds before my daughter,” Woods said. “It was kind of weird.”
But when she asked the ultrasound tech, she was reassured that this was all normal.
“At first I was like, ‘Is this normal? Is he going to look normal?’” Woods said. “She said sometimes it doesn’t capture all the dimensions and stuff so it can look kind of creepy.”
Luckily, the rest of her pregnancy was uneventful, and little Silas came out a healthy and happy boy, even though his personality is “definitely crazy,” said the mom.
