Steve Allen, a retiree from De Soto, said he was craving a pizza from Rocky Rococo's, a legendary Wisconsin pie chain. On the way, he stopped to buy some lottery tickets.
“I had a craving for Rocky Rococo’s pizza and decided to head there,” Allen told lottery officials when he claimed his prize.
He hit the Super Cash nightly drawing for $350,000, the largest pay-out for that game.
His lucky numbers were 17-18-20-26-27-31. He discovered his big win when he checked his numbers online.
“I saw 17, 18 and 20 and the numbers kept matching,” he told officials. “I was shocked I won and did a double-take. I checked the numbers again and again. It still hasn’t sunk in, even now, that I won. I couldn’t believe it.”
Allen, who retired seven years ago, says his windfall will change his life.
"The money is a big relief to my family," he said. "I won't have to lean on them as much as I had."
