Sleeping Cats Scared Awake by 6.0 Magnitude Earthquake
Several cats were enjoying a purfect nap, when they were interrupted by the ground shaking.
The moment a 6.0 magnitude earthquake hit Taiwan's northeastern coast, several resting cats popped their eyes open.
Black-and-white home security camera footage caught their glowing eyes as the little felines scrambled in the dark, frightened as they felt the building shake.
Weather officials said around 2,000 buildings lost power in the quake. Witnesses told Reuters they felt buildings rattle as far as Taiwan's capital, Taipei, which is nearly 300 miles away.
Railway service was suspended. There were also reportedly gas and water leaks.
Officials said no one was hurt. They also noted that Taiwan is located right near two tectonic plates, making it prone to earthquakes.
