Texas Man Gets 'Patriotic' Suntan Ahead of Fourth of July Holiday
He plans to strut with the unusual tan for the entire holiday.
A Texas man took patriotism to an entirely new level ahead of the Fourth of July — with a suntan.
It wasn’t just any suntan, however. Nicholas Cornell placed an outline on of the American flag on his chest and stomach before laying out in the sun Sunday.
“Every year I try to do something for the Fourth of July,” Cornell told InsideEdition.com. “We have a big party and I try to do something different just to show my patriotism.”
This year, Cornell’s fiancée suggested the flag idea and bought him masking tape and star stickers to create the outline.
Cornell, who has one child and a second on the way, then sat on his pool deck to see if it would work.
“I put them on and we went out and I just laid out on the pool deck for an hour and 45 minutes,” Cornell said. “I didn’t think it was going turn out because I was just lying there and it was hot and I was sweating. It actually turned out great so that’s when I decided to take pictures of the aftermath and post them up.”
While his design didn’t mimic the flag exactly, with more than 13 stripes and less than 15 stars on his, he said he got his point across.
He flaunts his new tan all day long, except at work.
“It’s pretty cool,” he said.
