Zoo Panda Receives Acupuncture Treatment for Sore Arm
He thankfully is in good health.
Pandas have to practice self-care too.
Tian Tian, who lives at the Smithsonian National Zoo, has fathered three cubs and at 20 years old, can still father more, so officials want to make sure he’s well taken care of.
So when the father showed a sore arm and unexplained weight loss, zoo veterinarians took him through a series of tests.
Thankfully Tian Tian’s sore arm isn’t arthritis, but doctors gave the animal acupuncture to stimulate muscle growth.
In the end, the beloved panda turned out to be OK.
The doctor joked that thankfully, his visit did not require a copay.
