Vin Diesel Names His Daughter After Paul Walker

"A way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world."
In The Fast and the Furious franchise, Vin Diesel’s character Dominic Toretto once said, “You don’t turn your back on family.”
The actor, whose close friend and cast mate Paul Walker tragically passed away in a car crash in November 2013, is still finding closure in the situation.
Last week, Diesel and longtime girlfriend Paloma Jimenez welcomed a baby girl into the world and they paid tribute to their late friend by naming her Pauline.
Speaking to the Today show’s Natalie Morales on Monday, Diesel said, “There's no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I just knew he was there. It felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world."
Walker died during the filming of Furious 7, the final installment to the successful series. Production on the film was halted for months and Walker’s real-life brothers filled in as his stand-in for certain sequences.
Furious 7 opens on April 3.
