Aaron Hernandez Found Guilty of First-Degree Murder

It was a dramatic moment in a Massachusetts court on Wednesday as former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez heard the verdict in his murder trial.

Hernandez was found guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting death of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd in 2013.

Prosecutors suggested that Hernandez’s motive was that Lloyd spoke to people at a Boston bar that the football player did not like.

Hernandez's fiancée and mother broke out in tears. The victim’s mother, Ursala Ward, wept in court as the verdict was read.

The former NFL star now faces mandatory life in prison without parole.  

After his 2013 arrest, Hernandez was released by the Patriots.
