Univision Says 'Adios' to Miss USA Pageant After Donald Trump Calls Mexican Immigrants 'Rapists'
After Donald Trump called Mexican immigrants "rapists" while announcing his presidential bid, Univision said it will not broadcast his Miss USA Pageant.
Adios, Miss USA pageant -- that's the decision by Univision TV after Donald Trump's controversial remarks about Mexican immigrants.
During his announcement that he was going to run for president, Trump said, "They are bringing drugs. They are bringing crime. They are rapists and some, I assume, are good people."
The Spanish-language TV network just announced it will boycott the Miss USA contest when it's held on July 12.
"We will not be airing the Miss USA pageant... or working on any other projects tied to the Trump organization," Univision said, citing what it called Trump's "insulting remarks."
Trump tweeted: “Univision wants to back out of signed ... Contract because I exposed the terrible trade deals that the U.S. makes with Mexico."

Trump spoke about the Univision controversy to Fox News' Gretchen Carlson on Thursday.
She asked him, "You say you are going to sue them because you have a signed contract."
"Of course I have a signed contract. Five years after paying me almost $15 million, I have a signed contract. They can't do this! They called me up today and apologized, they didn't even know what to say."
Ironically, the current Miss USA, Nia Sanchez, is of Mexican heritage.
Meanwhile, a Fox News poll puts Trump in second place among Republican candidates, just behind Jeb Bush. Bush is favored by 15% of Republican primary voters, Trump by 11%. The next nearest competitor is Dr. Ben Carson at 10%.
