U.S. Soccer Hero Carli Lloyd's Parents Were Not At Her Historic Game
Carli Lloyd made history during the Women's World Cup final and her parents were nowhere to be seen!
The nation is still celebrating today after the epic World Cup win for the U.S. Women's soccer team.
The hero of the game was Carli Lloyd – A Jersey girl! The dynamo from Delran Township scored a hat trick in the first 15 minutes of the game. The barrage left her Japanese opponents stunned.
The final score was a decisive 5 to 2 rout against Cup holders Japan who couldn’t defend the title.
The players made a bee-line for the corner of the stadium where their families were seated. Veteran Abby Wamabach hugged her wife Sara almost pulling her onto the field.

But Carli Lloyd’s parents were not there. They never come to her games; it turns out she's superstitious and believes their presence would make her too nervous.
She still lives in New Jersey with her high school sweetheart, golfer Brian Hollins.
Now she has some new hardware to put on her trophy shelf. She received the Golden Ball - the award for MVP of the entire World Cup.
The game was watched by millions across the nation in packed bars and even on airplanes.
