It was the movie icon's first public appearance since crashing his vintage plane in southern California last March.
He joined the other Star Wars original cast members, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens panel.
They treated fans to some behind the scenes footage of the next Star Wars movie out in December.
The convention in San Diego draws 130,000 fans. Many attend with the whole family and they love to dress up like their favorite characters from movies, TV and comic books.
Jennifer Lawrence and her Hunger Games costars hosted a panel treating fans to the new trailer and teaser for the franchise's final film.
