Minaj spoke out on Good Morning America about the battle that started over the MTV Video Music Award nominations, saying: “I spoke to Taylor Swift on the phone. She was, you know, super, super sweet and she apologized.”

Swift’s song "Bad Blood" was nominated for Video of the Year but Minaj’s hit "Anaconda" was overlooked.

Minaj reacted to the slight by posting on Twitter.

I'm not always confident. Just tired. Black women influence pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it. https://t.co/2xOvJzBXJX

Swift, who apparently took Minaj’s tweet personally, fired back.

@NICKIMINAJ I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..

Minaj then responded:

Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn't say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this. @taylorswift13

Swift then attempted to clear the air.

@NICKIMINAJ If I win, please come up with me!! You're invited to any stage I'm ever on.

It turns out the “Anaconda” singer wasn't talking about Swift.

‘She said, look, ‘I didn't understand the big picture of what you were saying but now I get it. So, we're all good,” Minaj said.
